CT-388 (enicepatide, RO7795068): what the evidence says
At a glance
What it is: a once-weekly injected peptide that activates both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, designed to be "biased" toward cAMP signaling with little receptor internalization. Developed by Carmot Therapeutics, now owned by Roche. R1
What the evidence says: Human in a 4-week phase 1 trial in people with overweight or obesity, weight fell 4.7% to 8.0% across doses vs 0.5% with placebo. R1 A 469-person phase 2 trial finished in Dec 2025 R2; we found no peer-reviewed results. UNVERIFIED any phase 2 weight-loss figure.
Biggest risks: the usual incretin side effects (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea); long-term safety unknown. R1

Legend: HUMAN data · ANIMAL / LAB data · UNKNOWN · UNVERIFIED: not yet confirmed against a primary source
About the evidence: the only published human data are four weeks long, in a small phase 1 trial run by the developer. A review places it among next-generation co-agonists. R7

Gray-market vials: extra risks
A gray-market vial has no quality control and no guarantee of identity, strength or sterility. We test retail vials blind under the Open Peptide Standard; see /tests/. A passing test covers one batch on one date and does not mean the compound is safe.
Is it legal?
- US: not FDA-approved; no Drugs@FDA application found (openFDA searched Oct 27, 2026).
- Compounding: not on FDA's 503A or 503B bulk-substance category lists and not on FDA's compounding safety-risk page. R3, R4, R5
- Sport: not named on WADA's 2026 list; as a drug not approved anywhere for human use it falls under S0 (non-approved substances) R6.
